Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers fired back at Joe Biden over the weekend in response to a shot the president took at him for his COVID-19 vaccine status last month.

One conservative on Twitter suggested this move alone earns Rodgers the season MVP:

Joe Biden Jokes About Aaron Rodgers – Quarterback Fires Back

In December, Biden was caught on camera joking with a woman wearing a Packers jacket while observing tornado damage in Kentucky. The President said to her, “Tell that quarterback he’s gotta get the vaccine.”

Then on Friday, Rodgers slapped back at Biden in a new interview.

“When the President of the United States says, ‘This is a pandemic of the unvaccinated,’ it’s because him and his constituents, – which I don’t know how there are any if you watch any of his attempts at public speaking — but I guess he got 81 million votes,” Rodgers told ESPN

NFL Vaccine Status Controversy

Rodgers famously came under fire back in the fall after saying he had been “immunized” against COVID-19 only later to clarify that his path to “immunization” was not through a CDC approved vaccine.

Rodgers again defended his choice on Friday. The Green Bay QB also called NFL players being categorized by their vaccination status a “witch hunt.”

“I had a plan going in for that question to be asked,” Rodgers recounted. “It was a pseudo witch hunt going on — who was vaccinated, who wasn’t vaccinated.”

“I was in a multi-month conversation that turned into an appeal process with the NFL at that time, and my appeal hinged on that exact statement [immunized],” he added. “So what I said was, number one, factually true. I went through a multi-immunization process. And at the end of that, I don’t know what you would call it, I would call it immunized.”

“I don’t want to apologize for being myself,” Rodgers concluded. “I just want to be myself.”

Future Uncertain For Aaron Rodgers Following Packers Playoff Loss

The night after this interview, the season came to an end for the Green Bay Packers when they lost to the San Francisco 49ers 13-10, and Rodgers was open afterwards about being shocked that his season is ending so soon.

“A little numb, for sure,” he said, according to Fox News. “I didn’t think it was gonna end like this.”

Rodgers went on to suggest that his future with the Packers may be uncertain.

“I did not think we’d be talking about this after this game,” he said. “I’m gonna take some time and have conversations with the folks around here, and then take some time away and make a decision — obviously before free agency or anything kinda gets going on that front.”

“There’s a lot of players whose futures are up in the air, so definitely will be interesting to see which way some of those decisions will go,” Rodgers continued. “But I’ll have the conversations with Brian in the next week or so and get a little bit more clarity and think about my own future and how much longer I want to keep doing this.”

While the Packers may not have taken the trophy this year, Rodgers ended the 2021-22 season with some incredible stats. Plus some new, and of course die-hard, fans.

Whether or not you are an Aaron Rodgers fan, it can’t be denied that he is one pro athlete who is not afraid to think for himself!

It certainly took guts to come back at Biden like that! One thing this world needs is more level-headed celebrities who think for themselves.
