‘Rust’ Cinematographer’s Father Says Alec Baldwin ‘Partially Guilty’ For His Daughter’s Death

It’s been two months since the fatal shooting on the set of Alec Baldwin’s movie Rust that claimed the life of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza. Now, Hutchins’ father is speaking out to slam Baldwin, saying that the actor is at least “partially responsible” for his daughter’s death.

Hutchins’ Father Speaks Out 

“It is clear to me Baldwin fired the shot from his hand so it’s hard for me to understand how he cannot be held partly responsible for my daughter’s death,” Anatoly Androsovych told The Sun. “I can’t understand the behavior of Alec.”

Androsovych went on to say that he does not understand Baldwin’s claim that he never pulled the trigger on the gun that killed his daughter, and that it simply went off on its own.

“Someone put a live bullet in a gun, a bullet that wasn’t even supposed to be on the property,” Baldwin alleged in an interview with George Stephanopoulos. “Someone is ​responsible for what happened, and I can’t say who that is, but I know it’s not me.”

Androsovych Fires Back

“The revolver is the type of gun which doesn’t shoot before the trigger is pressed and Alec is partially guilty for causing that shot,” the grieving 61-year-old father said before questioning why Baldwin had deleted a series of tweets he posted after the shooting.

“Why did he sweep out his tweets when it became clear the shooting was on rehearsal?” he stated. “And why did he fire the shot during the preparations?”

Androsovych also expressed his fears that his 9-year-old grandson Andros may not “ever fully recover” from the incident.  

“Andros is slowly getting back to life, but this is huge blow for all of us,” he lamented.

Investigation Into Shooting Continues 

The investigation into this shooting continues and a search warrant has been issued for Baldwin’s phone. 

Baldwin’s lawyer had this to say about Baldwin, “We are confident that the evidence will show that Mr. Baldwin is not responsible civilly or criminally for what occurred on Oct. 21, and he continues to cooperate with authorities. We proactively requested that the authorities obtain a warrant so that we could take steps to protect Mr. Baldwin’s family and personal information that is clearly unrelated to the investigation.”

Prosecutors have said that criminal charges for Baldwin in regards to this shooting are not off the table. With that in mind, he undoubtedly will not be pleased that Hutchins’ father is speaking out against him right now.
