John Goodman Debuts Stunning 200lb Weight Loss On Red Carpet – Here’s How He Did It
John Goodman spent most of his career as the affable big guy, but his 200 pound weight loss has him looking like a new man
For most of us, it’s a real struggle to lose weight and keep it off. Throughout most of his career, former ‘Roseanne’ star John Goodman was in the same boat. He was known to play big and jolly characters full of life and energy. For the last decade, however, John Goodman’s weight has been fluctuating as he tried to finally get his obesity under control.
Now, John Goodman is showing off his recent dramatic weight loss on the red carpet and the funnyman looks terrific!

How John Goodman Lost Over 200lbs
Goodman previously weighed upwards of 400lbs before slimming down into the 200s. Goodman used to go through yo-yos of dieting and drinking before getting sober in 2018.
‘In the old days, I would take three months out, lose 60 or 70 pounds, and then reward myself with a six-pack or whatever and just go back to my old habits.
‘This time I wanted to do it slowly. Move, exercise. I’m getting to the age where I can’t afford to sit still anymore.”
This is inspiring. It is easy to sit there, be overweight and unhealthy, and maintain terrible habits.
Taking the initiative, incredibly so late in life, takes a lot of courage and fortitude.

Now obviously, Goodman probably could afford a trainer and a nutritionist to help him, but even still, you need to motivate and push yourself to get better.

Weight Loss Isn’t A Secret – It’s Hard Work
I don’t know about you but I find John Goodman, Chris Pratt, and the other celebrity weight loss success stories quite inspiring.
What do I think is the secret to weight loss? Consistency and listening to your body.
Data shows that crash and fad diets don’t offer long-term success.
While some who can’t keep weight off consistently may opt for weight loss surgery, even then you still need to make diet and exercise changes in your life to lock in results.
If surgery isn’t for you, you can always follow the John Goodman plan by making small incremental changes in your life.
Lords knows we could all benefit from more exercise + veggies and less sugar + vices.
Congrats to John Goodman, Chris Pratt, and anyone who conquers this mountain. No matter what path you choose for yourself, just remember to acknowledge and reward yourself for your hard work!
