RAW In A Nutshell: Can’t Sleep On Kevin Owens Just Yet!

It's a fun filled RAW in a Nutshell, and as the evening progresses, I promise you, you will know why we can't sleep on Kevin Owens just yet!

We kick off November with another RAW in a Nutshell, with this one reminding us that you can’t sleep on Kevin Owens just yet!

Seems like good advice, if only a wee bit random, right?

Well, in fairness, I try to make the headline a little more general and less specific from part of the show.

However, I make an exception every now and again…and this is one of those times.

In the early goings of this RAW in a Nutshell, quite simply, Kevin Owens reminded us that, well, we can’t sleep on Kevin Owens just yet.

But why would we?

Well, it was not that long ago that he was getting abused by Happy Corbin, Madcap Moss and some reality star.

Of course, 2 of those are now on SmackDown…

But then there is his apparently soon to be expiring contract. According to reports, Owens may be gone from WWE in the not too distant future.

For now…he’s here and we can’t sleep on him.

Nor anyone else, really. Now that we are in November, all eyes are turning to one thing: Survivor Series.

Of course, the way things have been set up lately, most of those matches are pretty much booked-unless WWE swaps out a champ in short order.

So, let’s just get into this one shall we?

Let’s crack open this Nutshell and see how things go!

Best Match of the night:

It is not often where I can have this and say…like, all but one or two matches could be this.

Seriously.

Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair? Opener was lit.

Mysterio and Theory was a nice one too, maybe knocked down a peg due to the DQ.

The tag match was solid, as was our main event.

Any one of those could get it, as could Damien Priest and T-Bar.

Worst match of the night:

This for a change is mostly the least good match, more than a bad match.

The women’s tag match just didn’t do enough. Not much build, and it just felt like filler.

Plus, I hate the champs losing a non-title match.

Star of the Night

I feel like things were set up to allow a few Superstars to shine.

Becky Lynch, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens and Big E, specifically.

Nod to Damien Priest and T-Bar even.

Spot of the Night:

Nothing truly significant.

Jobber of the Night:

Honestly not sure where to go with this one.

Upset of the Night:

Well, not in terms of a match, but I’d bet dollars to donuts Kevin Owens is pretty salty with Big E right now.

Holy Sh** Moment of the Night:

For me, this is the “don’t sleep on Kevin Owens” moment.

Owens, after interrupting Seth Rollins and Big E, reminds folks that he could be here 3 more months, or 3 more years…he just doesn’t know.

That’s a most unexpected nod to his current contract status. Generally, it is rare for WWE to talk about those matters on air.

We saw it happen when the former Dean Ambrose was exiting. Otherwise, it is mostly for major signings-like Gable Steveson.

LOL Moment of the night:

I guess I kind of laugh at the 24/7 stuff? But unless there’s some reason why Reggie is still the champ…I think him holding it so long is ruining things now.

Noteworthy Moment:

Could Liv Morgan be getting a big shot against Becky Lynch? Seems the seeds are being planted.

Hard to tell if WWE is trying to get Big E to be a ‘tweener, or what is going on there.

I expected Owens to be all sorry, and then deliver a stunner. Turns out no, it would be Big E giving him a post match Big Ending instead.

So, is E a ‘tweener like Austin? Is Kevin Owens just being punked out all over?

Overall lowlights:

Not much for me to dislike. Some, but not a lot.

I don’t know where WWE is taking the Mysterios…but having Dom be the cheater week after week…just wish they’d progress it a bit more, and fast.

The women’s division is lacking tag teams. Feels like there are only a couple at any given time, and it’s whomever they don’t want chasing the brand title.

Not that the men’s depth is much better…

Overall highlights:

The opening match, and most every one after.

They were not all 5 stars. Most won’t even be remembered for Match of the Year.

But it was an enjoyable show from open to close, and that’s all you can ask for on most nights.

After the final bell:

Really good show overall. I’d imagine things start really ramping up for Survivor Series in the next show or two, as well.

But, there was a lot going on, and a lot coming to us next week too.

I mean, Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins? Yes please.

See, told you, don’t sleep on Kevin Owens just yet.
