Nate Diaz-Khamzat Chimaev? Dana White On Board

If Nate Diaz wants it, the UFC and Dana White are all for the veteran facing top prospect Khamzat Chimaev next.

UFC president Dana White is fully-invested in Nate Diaz vs. Khamzat Chimaev next.

Will it happen?

Only time will tell.

Chimaev remained unbeaten with a decisive victory over Li Jingliang this past weekend. After battling back from COVID-19, the top prospect looked great.

During his post-fight interview, Chimaev made the Diaz call-out.

“We’re gonna talk to Nate about it,” White told TMZ Sports. “One hundred percent.”

Why would White give someone so green Diaz? He explained.

“This guy is like nothing that anybody’s ever seen,” White said. “When you think about, he’s got more UFC wins than he’s been hit inside the Octagon. Insane.

“And the other night, our social team, they filmed his walkout on Instagram Live, it broke the record. It’s the biggest Instagram Live we’ve ever done.”

Last year, Chimaev reeled off two wins in 10 days while competing on Fight Island for the UFC in Abu Dhabi. His fights have come at both welterweight and middleweight.

Star power. Appeal. Finishing. Chimaev would appear to have it all.

You could almost call him the next Conor McGregor.
