Dana White’s Contender Series Recap: Season Five Concludes

The fifth season of Dana White's Contender Series wrapped up with two fighters earning contracts during the 10th episode.

The fifth season of Dana White’s Contender Series wrapped up Tuesday night.

A total of 39 contracts were handed out over the 10 episode series. That is the most in five seasons of the show, which debuted in 2017.

Just two, though, came from the 10th episode. Maheshate and Yohan Lainesse were awarded contracts for future bouts. 

In the main event, Maheshate topped Achillies Estremadura via decision. Lainesse knocked out Justin Burlinson in the first round. 

White did not award Jonas Bilharinho with a contract. Bilharino scored a spinning wheel kick finish on Canaan Kawaihae. 

Dana White’s Contender Series: Next Level is a brand new series that documents the life of a UFC contract winner through their first fight in the UFC. Episode 1, part one features DWCS season 5 winner, CJ Vergara, who finished his opponent with a spectacular first-round KO and is now the pride of his hometown in Laredo, TX as he is about to set foot on the biggest fight stage in the world at Madison Square Garden for UFC 268.
