Certainly, the Undertaker has more WWE pull than any other wrestler and he is not afraid to use it Also, Alundra Blayze wants one match, even though she retired over a two decades ago.
After working for Vince McMahon’s WWE for 30 years, you get some perks. For everything Undertaker has done for WWE, Vince is always willing to listen.
Well, he even caused Vince to switch a planned title change. It saw The Godfather and Bull Buchanan defeat The Hardy Boyz for the tag team gold in 2000.
The Goodfather appeared on an episode of It’s My Wrestling Podcast and said Undertaker made the call.
“So when they took me in as The Goodfather, it wasn’t fun no more,” said The Godfather. “So right away I was like, ‘Dude, I’m out of here.’”
“I think ‘Taker went to Vince and said I’m getting ready to leave, and all of a sudden they drop the belts on me. And I had loyalty, I’m not going to run out with the belts.”
“As soon as they got those belts off of us then I finished that because I really wasn’t having fun. The Godfather was unhappy with his time in the WWE.”
“When he received the belts, he made sure to keep going with them for as long as he could. However, when the belts were exchanged, he knew it was time to go.”
When Undertaker speaks everyone listens because of his pull. That is how respected he is in all of pro wrestling.
In February, WWE Hall of Famer Alundra Blayze (also known as Madusa) will turn 58 years old. She debuted in 1984 and ofically retired in 2000.
Although, few ever stay retired in the pro wrestling game. And, that is exactly what is going one with Blayze.
During a recent interview with Women’s Wrestling Talk, she mentioned wanting a retirement match. She did not seem to care where, as she called out several promotions.
“I feel that I deserve a retirement match,” said Blayze. “I don’t care if it’s three minutes, or if it’s an hour long as I deserve one.”
“And every federation knows I have it out there. Hello Impact, hello AEW, hello WWE, hello NWA, hello ROH, whatever, right?”
“So, it’s out there and I would definitely have a retirement match. And, I would choose my opponent.”
“The opponent would have to be someone that could carry me. And what I mean by that, is no disrespect to myself; is that if I were to forget something, and I need someone to take care of my body.”
“Because I’m not 20 I mean, you have to be real, you know, I’m much older than Trish [Stratus] and Lita. You know, I could be both of your mother you know.”
“Yeah, you’d have to be somebody that would take care of me in the match. And of course, likewise.”
She found the most success in WWE, before leaving with their Women’s Championship. Then, she famously tossed the belt in the trash on WCW TV.
WWE forgave and she has made appearances for them over the past few years. She even had a small role in AEW, so that are options out there.
