The Young Bucks allegedly pushed AEW to sign Bobby Fish after his NXT release. This claim was made by none other than Dave Meltzer from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

From Undisputed To Free Agent

Bobby Fish was an integral part of the Undisputed Era. This was also the faction that included Adam Cole.

Adam Cole asked for his release a little while back and then decided to head over straight to AEW. Now, it seems Bobby Fish has also found a home at AEW.

Bobby Fish also seemed to have some supporters on the current AEW roster. Of course, it probably helped that some of those supporters were none other than The Young Bucks.

The Young Bucks are currently Executive Vice Presidents of AEW. So, The Bucks recommending the 44-year-old wrestler certainly contributed to a contract.

Fish became a free agent in August and signed with AEW not too long after. However, the company decided to keep that a secret.

Instead, AEW chose to let the debut happen with a contract on the line. And this was probably the better choice to get fans on his side.

The support of the Young Bucks for Bobby Fish is not that unusual though. After all, you have to remember that the Bucks and Fish were in reDRagon with Kyle O’Reilly, which spanned over several different promotions.

If O’Reilly would like to jump ship, we are sure the Bucks would put in a good word for him as well. But for now, the latter remains on NXT.

Adam Cole has already stated he is happy with Bobby Fish signing with AEW. Of course, you do have to remember that the faction did not end on the best of terms.

“The last time I was around Bobby Fish, things with my former group didn’t end so well. I’m not sure we’re on the best terms. However, I am very happy that he’s in AEW, I hope everybody else too. We’ll see if it gets to the point where we invite him into The Elite. I don’t know if I’m emotionally ready for that yet. “

You do have to wonder if this could lead to a future story line. It could lead to Fish versus Adam Cole if fences are not mended.

On the flip side, Bobby Fish could once again join forces with his former faction mate. But is there more room in The Elite for another wrestler.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the weeks to come. Of course, we will only get a small hint of what is to come once Bobby Fish starts interfering in Adam Cole’s matches.

In a recent interview, Fish also spoke out about his former faction mate. And it seems that there is certainly some mutual respect.

“It’s no secret, the four of us are legitimately close. So whether we work for the same company or not, we all still communicate with each other. So yeah, there’s been conversations between Kyle, Roddy, myself, and Adam, and you know, those conversations never end. I mean, they’re my friends. So yeah, I just want to see success come to each of us and everybody’s gonna be happy and I know from what I’ve seen of Adam on AEW, so far he looks happy, and that the conversations we’ve had have confirmed those suspicions that he is happy. That makes me happy for him, for my friend.”
