Famed ‘The Terminator’ star and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger spoke out this week to slam world leaders ahead of the COP26 climate change conference in Glasgow. One of the leaders slated to attend this event is President Joe Biden.

The former Mr. Olympia wants to know if these world leaders tasked with addressing climate issues are “stupid” or just “liars”.

‘The Terminator’ Arnold Schwarzenegger Talks Climate Change

Newsweek reported that Schwarzenegger said Friday that world leaders who said tackling climate change would cost jobs were “liars” or stupid.”

When asked what solutions he could think of to the climate change issue, Schwarzenegger referenced offshore windfarms in California as well as getting more electric cars on the road.

“California is sizzling and what we’re so happy about is that we are proving simultaneously that it is the best job creator when you go green,” he said.

“We have had an increase in job creation since 1990, about 35 percent in [the] green sector, for instance. And at the same time, we’re No 1 economically in the United States with a GDP of $3.3 trillion,” “The Terminator” himself added.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Blasts Global Leaders

Schwarzenegger also held nothing back as he slammed global leaders who have argued that solutions to climate change were a threat to their economies.

“So, all of those countries that come and give speeches—’We’re not gonna go and lose jobs because of this going green,’ they’re always like—they’re liars,” he said. “They are just stupid and they don’t know how and it’s all about having the balls to do it.”

Schwarzenegger is skeptical of Biden attending this climate change conference.

“Biden can go over to Glasgow and he can promise everything,” Schwarzenegger said. “But as you could see, he cannot get anything passed right now.”

“So, what does a promise and a pledge mean in the end? Nothing,” he added. “Over and over, year after year, they make these pledges and they come out to declare victory, but then nothing is getting done. And so this is what I’m worried about.”

Why He’s Optimistic

Even so, 74-year-old Schwarzenegger remains optimistic about the future.

“There is no fate but what we make for ourselves,” he said.

On a personal note, Schwarzenegger also addressing his own dietary changes in this interview. The former bodybuilder reports that his new diet has helped him enhance his health and welfare.

“Since eating more vegetables and plant-based foods my heart doctor said my arteries have stopped narrowing,” he said. “So how have I given up something? I gained my health, it gave me an extra two years.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger confirmed that he will be personally attending the COP 26 Summit in Glasgow next week.

Now we wait to see how this confluence of leaders will go.
