Queen Elizabeth, who is a devout Christian, was forced to miss church yesterday days after we reported that she spent the night in the hospital. She was admitted to King Edward VII’s Hospital on Wednesday for her first overnight stay for a medical reason in eight years.

Queen Elizabeth Misses Church

Daily Mail reported that palace insiders said that the Queen missed prayers at Windsor’s All Saints Chapel in Windsor yesterday. However, it is believed that she received private prayers with a chaplain inside the castle.

Doctors have told the Queen to only carry out light royal duties, so it is unlikely that she will be seen this week.

While Buckingham Palace has said that the Queen “remains in good spirit,” a royal source reporters on Sunday that “she is knackered.”

Since the death of Prince Philip, she has been at 120 official engagements – exhausting for anyone.

“Her private office will constantly look at her diary and tweak it as and when is necessary,” another insider said last night.

Rumors of a health issue for the Queen first began to swirl last week, when she cancelled a planned trip to Ireland due to the advice of her doctors.

Royal sources have claimed that there is no cause for concern here, and that the trip was only cancelled as a “precautionary” measure.

Expert Sounds Off

Joe Little, managing editor of Majesty magazine, said that the Queen’s fall schedule had been a little busier than usual, and that last-minute cancellations were inevitable in the future.

“When you get to the age of 95 and you have a role such as the Queen has, there is an inevitability about last-minute cancellations,” Little said. “Unfortunately, I think this is just how it’s going to have to be from time to time.

“Mentally, the Queen is pin-sharp as ever and when she makes speeches she speaks well,” he added. “Every now and again there will be this reminder that she is 95 and she can’t do what was expected of her 10, 20 years ago.”

Sources Worry About Queen

Next week is the COP26 climate change summit that the Queen hopes to attend in Scotland. It remains to be seen if she’ll be able to go.

Some Royal sources, however, are worried about the Queen as she prepares to celebrate her 70 years on the British throne with her Platinum Jubilee next year.

“With her Platinum Jubilee on the horizon, many are thinking that perhaps her private office needs to look at the diary again,” one source said, with another adding, “No one is saying that she should take a step back, but perhaps another slight step to one side might be in order.”

This comes at a difficult time for the Queen, as she lost her beloved husband of 73 years Prince Philip back in April.
