Jon Jones

No matter what, Jon Jones just can’t keep his name out of the headlines.

And not for the better.

Jones, the former UFC light heavyweight champion, was arrested early Friday morning and charged in Las Vegas. He was in town for the UFC Hall of Fame ceremony.

According to multiple reports, Jones is charged with battery domestic violence along with injuring and tampering with a vehicle. As of the latest report, he is still being held in custody in Las Vegas.

Bail has been set at $8,000, $5,000 for tampering with a vehicle and $3,000 for the domestic battery charge. He is scheduled to make an appearance in court on Saturday morning.

This is just the latest in a long line of incidents with police. Jones was charged in a hit-and-run six years ago, on aggravated DWI and other charges in 2020 and had other issues in between.

After vacating his title, Jones made it known he planned to move up to the heavyweight division. There have been talks of a title fight as early as 2022 for Jones vs. either Francis Ngannou or Cyril Gaine.
