UFC Fighter Uses Octagon Skills To Halt His Own Carjacker

UFC fighter Jordan Williams showed just how important MMA skills can be in real-world situations recently.

Williams halted his own would-be carjacker in Denver after leaving his vehicle running.

According to a report by the New York Post, Williams entered a gas stations to purchase something to drink a snacks. When he quickly returned to his vehicle, a carjacker jumped into the driver’s seat and made an attempt to steal it.

Williams, though, relied on his skills that have served him well as a fighter. 

“At first, I couldn’t really believe it,” Williams said in an interview with ESPN. “And then I was like, ‘Holy shit, there’s someone really in my car.

“I opened the door and, it’s funny, the first thing I did was throw the stuff I bought on the passenger seat. And then I proceeded to punch the guy. After the first punch he said, ‘OK, I’m sorry, I’m sorry.’ I was able to get some knees on him, as he was exiting out.”

Williams, who is 30 years old, went after his car and connected with multiple strikes before the carjacker fled on foot. 

The incident was caught on film and posted online. 

Williams, who trains in Denver at the Factory X MMA, has posted a record of 0-2 since signing with the UFC. He appeared on Dana White’s Contender Series, but has fallen to Nassourdine Imavov and Mickey Gall, leaving him 9-5 in his career.

On Instagram, Williams had some fun with the incident. 

“Wish I would of hit him with the trip after the clinch work when I tossed him out of the whip and finish off with some ground and pound. But, I’ll settle with getting my car back.”
