Marion Reneau knows fight fans around the world will be tuning in to UFC on ESPN 26 to see the return of Miesha Tate.

And I’m sure that is quite alright by Reneau.

UFC on ESPN 26 takes place this Saturday night live on ESPN and ESPN+. Along with Reneau vs. Tate in the co-main event, Islam Makhachev and Thiago Moises square off in a key lightweight contest to headline the card.

Tate, a former UFC and Strikeforce champion, is the biggest name on the docket. She is returning to action after retiring several years ago.

For Reneau, this is a tremendous opportunity to showcase herself in front of a large audience.

The 44-year-old knows she is under the gun, which should only make her even more dangerous.

Reneau has dropped her last four fights, with all four coming by way of decision. And she hasn’t been facing just ho-hum fighters during that stretch.

Macy Chiasson, Raquel Pennington, Yana Kunitskaya and Cat Zingano have been the last four fighters to stand across Reneau inside the Octagon.

Prior to her tough run, she was 9-3-1 with wins over Sara McMann, Talita Bernardo and former UFC champion Jessica Andrade on her resume.

In 2015, she faced Holly Holm, another former UFC titleholder, and pushed her to the distance.

So Reneau is no easy tune-up fight for Tate. And she better be ready to face a stiff challenge.
