Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are being honored with a special award recognizing their “population control” efforts. The award stems from a 2019 conversation between Prince Harry and world renowned primatologist Jane Goodall.
Population Matters is a UK charity whose goal is to “achieve a sustainable human population, to protect the natural world and improve people’s live.” The organization thus promotes smaller families so as not to be a drain on our planet and the environment.
The liberal organization also focuses on human rights and women’s issues. So they want to bring birth rates down and even honor some who decide not to have children at all.
Prince Harry’s Conversation With Jane Goodall
The award stems from The Duke of Sussex’s previous public promise to only having a maximum of two children.
Prince Harry proclaimed this to Jane Goodall, a Population Matter patron, two years ago.

It was perceived at the time to be a dig at his brother and future King, Prince William who has three children with his wife Kate Middleton.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Receive Population Control Award
Now, Harry’s has earned an award for his intentions to limit his family to help combat climate change.
Populations Matters website announced the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s award.
In choosing and publicly declaring their intention to limit their family to two, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are helping to ensure a better future for their children, and providing a role model for other families. When the Duke first mentioned their intention to do so in his Vogue interview with Population Matters patron Jane Goodall in 2019, he spoke of his love for nature and sense that our natural environment is borrowed, and said we all “should be able to leave something better behind for the next generation”. We commend the Duke and Duchess for taking this enlightened decision, and for affirming that a smaller family is also a happy family.

The Duke And Duchess Already Have Two Children
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently had their second child, a daughter named Lilibet Diana. This is when the rubber hits the road.
Now we will see how important this promise is to Prince Harry and if he will abide by it and not have another child.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been vocal about their support of environmental projects. One of which is Harry and Meghan’s claim to be committed to limiting the size of their family.
