Jairzinho Rozenstruik made the most of his main event opportunity at UFC Fight Night 189, finishing Augusto Sakai in the first round.

The entire card aired live on ESPN+ from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

In a battle of heavyweights looking to cement their spot in the rankings, it was Rozenstruik claiming victory with a flurry of strikes that ended Sakai.

Marcin Tybura also scored a big victory, stopping Walt Harris in the co-main event inside of the opening round.

Roman Dolidze, Santiago Ponzinibbio, Gregory Rodrigues and Montana De La Rosa were all main card winners on the night.

Rozenstruik and Tybura picked up “Performance of the Night” bonuses while Ponzinibbio vs. Miguel Baeza was declared the “Fight of the Night.”

Next up for the promotion will be UFC 263 on Saturday night live from the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona. Israel Adesanya defends his middleweight title vs. Marvin Vettori, Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno collide for the flyweight belt, and Nate Diaz returns to meet Leon Edwards.
