Queen Elizabeth Kate Middleton future Prince William

Royal experts are saying that Queen Elizabeth, who is close to her granddaughter-in-law Kate Middleton, reportedly “sees a future queen” in her. The 39-year-old Duchess of Cambridge was not born a Royal but is married to Prince William, elder son of Prince Charles and second in line for the throne.

Her husband William, the Duke of Cambridge, also turned 39 earlier this week.

The Queen Loves Kate Middleton

The 95 year-old monarch clearly has great affection for William and Kate. According to royal experts, the Queen’s feelings for Kate Middleton, born a commoner, have changed significantly since the couple wed.

“Kate’s growing confidence in her royal had clearly been recognised at the highest level. The Duchess was seen wearing the The Royal Family Order in 2018,” narrator David Riley said in the television documentary “Kate: Our Queen in Waiting.”

“The Order itself is a yellow badge that is worn on the lapel of a dress,” added royal expert Katie Nicholl, according to The Express. “I think it was the Queen’s way of thanking Kate for her contribution to the Royal Family.”

‘I Look At You And See A Future Queen’

The filmmaker and broadcaster Bidisha agreed with this assessment.

“The Queen is saying to Kate, ‘I’m going to give you these family honours,'” she explained. “‘To make it extremely clear that I’m a Queen, I look at you and see a future Queen.’ The Royal Family Order is an honor bestowed on female members of the British Royal Family by the Queen. It is worn on formal occasions, and is more of a personal memento.”

Kate was first seen wearing her honor during a state dinner at Buckingham Palace in October of 2018.

During this event, Kate wore her order along with a yellow ribbon on the left strap of her gown. Kate’s iteration included glass instead of the traditional ivory.

Three of the Queen’s daughter-in-laws have been given this honor, with Diana, Princess of Wales, receiving hers in 1981. Sophie, Countess of Wessex, was appointed in in 2010, while Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, was given hers two years later in 2012.

The Queen Had Concerns About Kate Middleton

Kate has been married to Prince William, the grandson of the Queen who will one day inherit the throne, for the past ten years.

While the Queen loves Kate today, she reportedly had some concerns about her prior to her marriage to William.

“Privately she had grave concerns and believed that Kate needed to have a job and an identity in her own right before an engagement was announced,” Nicholl claimed in her book, “The Making of a Royal Romance,” according to The Royal Observer.

Royal expert Phil Dampier doubled down on this by saying that the Queen had concerns that Kate lacked hobbies.

“Kate was William’s girlfriend for eight or nine years before they got engaged and got married,” Dampier stated. “There was a phase where she appeared to be doing very little, really. The Queen once remarked Kate doesn’t do very much so I think she had a fairly long entrance to the royal family.”

However, these concerns that Queen Elizbeth II had about Kate Middleton appear to be long gone. Talk of “future queen” certainly puts any doubt to rest.

We’re glad to see that the beloved Duchess was able to build a strong bond with the Queen through the years!
