Yaroslav Amosov

Yaroslav Amosov handled Douglas Lima at Bellator 260, becoming the new welterweight champion in the process.

Amosov earned a convincing one-sided decision over Lima live on Showtime. With the win, he improved to 26-0 in his career.

“I am happy because this is my life. It’s been a long time in training,” Amosov said. “It’s the result I wanted and I am happy. Now I must recover. But, it doesn’t matter, I have my undefeated record.”

In the co-main event, Jason Jackson made his case to challenge Amosov, topping Paul Daley. Jackson swept the three scorecards and won all three rounds against the veteran, pushing his career record to 15-4.

“It’s not easy to come out here and do what me and Paul Daley just did. We came out here, we fought our ass off,” he said. “I needed to prove to myself that I could go in there and fight the champ.”

Aaron Pico stopped Aiden Lee and Mark Lemminger opened the main card with a victory over Demarques Jackson.

On the prelims, Kyle Crutchmer, Justin Gonzalez, Bobby King, Lucas Brennan, Marina Mokhnatkina and Alex Polizzi were all winners.
