Tim Tebow’s NFL comeback finally became official on Thursday morning when he signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as a tight end. This came after days of backlash from many “woke” social media users who were outraged that Tebow is being given another shot in the NFL when Colin Kaepernick is not.

“I want to thank the Jaguars for the opportunity to compete and earn the chance to be part of this team,” Tebow said in a statement after signing, according to CBS Sports.
“I know it will be a challenge, but it is a challenge I embrace,” he added. “I am dedicated to taking the direction of our coaching staff and learning from my teammates. I appreciate everyone’s support as I embark on this new journey.”

Jaguars Coach Speaks Out
Jaguars Coach Urban Meyer had confirmed earlier this week that Tebow had indeed been working out with the team as a tight end.
“I have one job and that is to win games with the Jacksonville Jaguars,” Meyer said. “If Tim Tebow…can help us win, then that’s my job to get them ready to go play. That decision is certainly not made yet.”
Fred Taylor, the Jaguars’ career rushing leader, discussed Tebow’s previous career in the NFL, saying that he doesn’t think he was given a “fair shot” as a quarterback.
“I don’t think Tim got a complete fair shot in the because most of the coaches were saying, ‘We need the prototypical NFL quarterback,'” Taylor said while appearing on All Things Covered with Patrick Peterson & Bryant McFadden. “And he’s not that.”
“That was just before the zone reads and the offenses changed up,” he continued. “And I think if Tim had been able to hold on long enough to have those offenses come to fruition, and develop them as they have been the past couple years, I think you would have saw a better quarterback.”
Twitter Backlash Over Tebow And Kaepernick
Despite the fact that Tebow and Kaepernick have nothing to do with each other, Twitter has still erupted in anger that the former has been signed to another NFL team while the latter has yet to be.
Tim Tebow is getting a football try out… at a new position… 9 years after he last played.
Colin Kaepernick is still unsigned.
The NFL likes to pay lip service to social justice now, but at the end of the day, they’re afraid of losing their racist fans.

It’s unfortunate that so many social media users are trying to make this huge opportunity that Tebow has been given into some kind of racial injustice.
Tebow is an incredible athlete who has launched successful careers in both the professional football and baseball worlds in the past, so any team would be lucky to have him.

It’s time for this backlash to end. And for the public to allow Tebow to resume his NFL career in peace.
We can’t wait to see how he does with the Jaguars!
