Singer and former coach on “The Voice” Gwen Stefani made it clear that she has no intention of ever getting political publicly. In a world where celebrities are constantly talking about politics  and preaching to their fans about their oftentimes-radically liberal ideologies, her stance is quite refreshing.

No Political Labels For Stefani

Stefani, 51, is engaged to country music singer Blake Shelton. Here’s a brief look at what he has to say about her:

She said in a new interview that she’d rather not label herself as a Republican or Democrat. She said, “I can see how people would be curious, I think it’s pretty obvious who I am.”

Yahoo News reported that Stefani cited her work with the band “No Doubt” and her latest music as proof that she is a believer in unity.

“I started my band because we were really influenced by ska, which was a movement that happened in the late ’70s, and it was really all about people coming together,” Stefani explained. “The first song I ever wrote was a song called ‘Different People,’ which was on the Obama playlist, you know, a song about everyone being different and being the same and loving each other. The very first song I wrote.”

Stefani Won’t Say Who She Voted For

As for who she voted for in the 2020 elections, Stefani won’t be revealing that to the public.

“The whole point of voting, is you have this personal space to feel how you feel,” she added. “I use my platform to share my life story and to engage with people and to exchange whatever gift I was giving.”

Stefani went on to say that she is a pop star, “not a political science major.”

“Everyone knows that. So why would I even talk about it [politics]?” she reasoned.

If only more celebrities felt the same way, right?!

When the interviewer tried to argue that Stefani’s 1995 song “Just A Girl” was a political declaration of some sort, the singer was not having it.

“I don’t even know if I knew what feminist at that time was,” she recalled. “I was very sheltered growing up with my family. I wasn’t political. I wasn’t angry.”

Stefani’s Philosophy Is Simple

Gwen Stefani has a message for those who are eager to know her political stance. She explains that her philosophy is simple.

“I don’t need to go on Instagram and say ‘girl power.’ I just need to live and be a good person and leave a trail of greatness behind me,” she said. “Stop talking about it and stop trying to bully everybody about it. Just do it. And that’s how I feel like I’ve lived my life.”

In a world where liberal celebrities all seem to think they’re political experts, Stefani’s attitude could not be more refreshing.

We could definitely use more stars like her in the world!
