Reports have surfaced that former WCW superstar Buff Bagwell was arrested this past weekend on several charges. He was picked up in Cobb County, Georgia.
Buff Bagwell Arrested On 11 Charges
According to the Georgia Gazette, Marcus Buff Bagwell was arrested on 11 different charges. While specifics are unknown at the moment, he was brought in on Saturday, May 22nd.
What was he arrested for? Well, the report lists speeding, failure to yield when entering an intersection, giving false information to police officers, and having an opened container.
That’s not all. Added charges around driving include hit and run, following too closely, driving on a median, driving under the influence of drugs, driving on the wrong side of the road, and reckless driving.
Buff Bagwell Has Been Released
Bagwell did spend some time in jail. However, he was released on a $4,000 bond.
At the age of 51, Bagwell spent most of his professional wrestling career in WCW. He was in the promotion from 1991 to 2001 and held their Tag Titles five times.
Over to other news, SummerSlam is known as the biggest party of the summer! As the pay-per-view (PPV) is about to be announced, sounds like a competition is brewing.
Big SummerSlam Competition
WWE’s 2021 SummerSlam should be announced soon. It’s expected to be held at the new Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, NV.

According to reports, the event is scheduled for August 22nd. It’s also been noted that the WWE wanted an outdoor stadium for this PPV.
Here’s where things get interesting. Allegiant Stadium does not have a retractable roof. However, it does have special doors and a roof to allow for an “outdoor” setting.
Some have speculated that WWE might be re-evaluating SummerSlam plans. For several reasons.
Could WWE Choose Another City Or Venue?
The big PBC FOX boxing match, Errol Spencer Jr. versus Manny Pacquiao, is now taking place the night before SummerSlam. As such, the WWE won’t be the biggest event in Vegas that weekend.
The company could struggle to fill Allegiant with 60,000 fans. Las Vegas is a hard market for wrestling.
As it is, it will be tough to hit capacity for SummerSlam in the stadium they are thinking about. Allegiant has a compacity of 61,000 to 65,000 (or up to 72,000) depending on the event.
The WWE could head to the T-Mobile Arena, which can hold 15,000. But, the first SmackDown on Fox took place there and the crowd they drew was only 7,000.
There’s also the idea of Mandalay Bay Events Center or MGM Grand Garden Arena. Sadly, these venues might be considered “too small” for a PPV like WWE SummerSlam.
The reason WWE chose Vegas for SummerSlam, is that they wanted a touristy city. The idea is that fans would fly in for the event to fill up the venue.
There were also talks about Allegiant Stadium hosting WrestleMania at some point. Only time will tell.
SummerSlam coincides with WWE relaunching their live events tour since the COVID-19 pandemic. After over a year, WWE is finally returning to house shows.
This 25-city tour kicks off in Houston, Texas on Friday, July 16th during Money in the Bank weekend. I’ll wrap up on Monday, September 6th.
