RVD, also known as Rob Van Dam, has stated he wants one more match in the WWE. And it seems that WWE superstar Matt Riddle wants to be a part of that.
RVD Wants One More WWE Match
Rob Van Dam wants one more match in the WWE, and it seems there would be plenty of people interesting in being his opponent.
RVD recently spoke on After The Bell about his desires to return to the WWE ring. However, he did make it clear it would not be full time.
“I go with the flow of the universe. I don’t know how to put odds on that. If you’re talking about a one-off or something that’s not full-time, I would think there’s probably just as good of odds going forward as going against it.”
A return for RVD would possibly draw some people to the WWE. Of course, it would have to be the right feud to draw them in.
But who would be an interesting feud for RVD? Well, it seems Rob already has one WWE superstar very excited about a possible return.
It is a WWE superstar that has a lot in common with RVD. Of course, we are talking about none other than Matt Riddle.
The Similarities Between Matt Riddle And Rob Van Dam
Riddle and Van Dam have many similarities. Naturally, their biggest similarity is their affinity for so-called Mary Jane if you catch my drift.
While speaking to WWE India, Matt Riddle explained why he would love to have a match with the WWE Hall of Famer.
“I don’t know if I want to go one on one with him or I want to form a super tag team with him. We got mutual respect for one another but I think we can also fight one another too. He is the newly inducted Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam. If I can get a singles match or a tag match with Rob Van Dam, I would be pretty juice.”
“I looked up to his career early on and my career and his work rate, the way he talks, the way he does his things. He didn’t care. I don’t care. He is one of a kind.”
Of course, it remains to be seen if RVD is interested in a match against Riddle. After all, he has not been on the main roster for terribly long.
Despite his short stint on the main roster, it does seem like Riddle has management behind him. In spite of previous scandals surrounding Riddle, he seemed to get an upgrade to the main roster quickly.
Of course, Riddle is also quite popular among WWE fans and this has helped him when it comes down to main roster attention. However, is this attention good enough to lure in RVD?
The question is also if WWE has interest in a match between Van Dam and Riddle. Time will tell if this particular feud actually comes to fruition.
