Martha MacCallum Chelsea Handler Derek Chauvin Fox News due process

After Derek Chauvin was found guilty on murder and manslaughter charges for the death of George Floyd on Tuesday, Fox News host Martha MacCallum called out comedian Chelsea Handler for a March tweet in which the comedienne suggested that the former Minneapolis police officer did not deserve due process.

Fox News Host Martha MacCallum Discusses Chauvin Verdict

During the Fox Business “Varney & Co” segment, MacCallum began by stating that she believes Derek Chauvin got what he deserves thanks to the American justice system.

“Chauvin got the best of what the United States justice system provides,” MacCallum said.

“What has been proven today with this verdict is that even somebody like Derek Chauvin, who had nobody sticking up for him and who was so difficult to watch as he ground his knee into this man’s neck, gets a trial,” she added. “He has due process, he has the opportunity to have an attorney on his side who speaks on his behalf.”

MacCallum then called out Handler for her tweet last month in which she wrote, “So pathetic that there is a trial to prove that Derek Chauvin killed George Floyd when there is video of him doing so.”

MacCallum, however, was not having any of it.

“I hope, Chelsea Handler, that if you ever find yourself in [that] situation, that you get the due process that even Derek Chauvin, who people despised, got in this country, in the United States of America,” she said. “We can never go to a place where we say, ‘Skip the trial, we saw the video,’ and that is what everyone in this country should feel very good about today.”

“The Story” host wasn’t done there. She doubled down on the merit of due process.

“We saw due process,” MacCallum concluded. “We saw 12 Americans who sat there and did very tough duty to sit through this trial, and no doubt they were scared … but I think those are the big lessons that we take away.”

Chelsea Handler Calls For Slave Reparations

The longtime host of “Chelsea Lately” on the E! network was once known as a comedian who made a living talking smack about celebrities. But, these days, she is far better known for her radical liberal activism.

Last week, Chelsea Handler participated in a video with actress Alyssa Milano in which they called for Joe Biden to bring about slave reparations in this country.

In the video, Handler said that America is “out of excuses” when it comes to not enacting reparations.

“So please stop making them,” she said. “We built this country on the backs of Black and brown people and we still haven’t really done anything to say, ‘f—.’”

“If you’re somebody who thinks this is going to be an attack or take something away from you, I want to remind you, that when we all succeed, we all succeed,” Handler later added. “You don’t get a group of people that succeed beyond another group of people unless you’re being subjugated.”

Chelsea Handler then called on those watching the video to be part of this “moment” in time that she hopes will culminate in slave reparations.

We applaud Fox News and Martha McCallum for calling out this Hollywood comedian turned activist!
