Kamala Harris’ Model Stepdaughter Ella Emhoff Announces Collaboration With Major Designer
Kamala Harris' stepdaughter Ella Emhoff got a boost from the fashion world; she'll be collaborating with designer Batsheva Hay on knitwear.
In January, we reported that Vice President Kamala Harris’ stepdaughter Ella Emhoff had been signed by major modeling agency IMG Models.
Last month, Emhoff made her debut walking at New York Fashion Week, something any model would give anything to do.
Emhoff Scores More Fashion Opportunities
Now, Emhoff’s career in the fashion world is continuing to take off, as she’s announced that she’s collaborating with Batsheva Hay on a new knitwear line.
It was Hay who designed the ruffled dress that Emhoff wore to Joe Biden’s inauguration, and that made many liberals describe her as a fashion icon.
Check out the dress below and see how “iconic” you think it is.

Emhoff Gushes About Hay
“It’s so weird because I’ve followed her for a really long time, and then I was thinking about what to wear for the inauguration,” Emhoff said of Hay on an episode of “Good Morning Vogue” on Monday.

“I got to meet her on Zoom and I was like, OK. So many of her designs are so cohesive to my personal wants and needs,” Emhoff added.
Hay chimed in as well to say, “Obviously we got connected through me dressing you, but then, that also opened my eyes to just kind of fangirl-ing on your stuff and seeing what you’re doing.”
“You know, even though my stuff is more traditional femininity, I think that you’re also doing something playful and playing with femininity too, in colors and shapes and all of that kind of stuff,” she added.
Emhoff, who is a student at Parsons School Of Design in New York City, then said that “what’s so important about designing, especially to me, is being able to create things that you like without the outside influence of what you think the fashion industry wants.”
‘I Have To Be Honest, I Wasn’t Expecting This’
Even Emhoff could not deny that her rise to fashion stardom since the inauguration has been shocking, to say the least.
“I have to be honest, I wasn’t expecting this,” Emhoff admitted of her sudden fame. “I think life really did a 180.”
“The past month has been pretty crazy,” she later added. “S***’s different.”
Emhoff also said that she is trying to stay grounded in all the craziness by going to therapy.
“My therapist always says, ‘compare and despair,'” Emhoff said. “It’s one of those things that’s like, just comparing yourself, even if it’s a good comparison, at a certain point it might just cause you a lot of pain and just overthinking that is just not necessary.”
Emhoff should thank her lucky stars that her stepmom is a liberal.
If Harris was a conservative, her stepdaughter would be getting none of these opportunities.
Clearly, in the eyes of the fashion world, politics matter are far more important than looks these days. As long as she’s a liberal, any girl can be a model!
