Royals Refute Meghan Markle’s Claim That She Was Forced To Alter Archie’s Birth Certificate

Meghan Markle found herself very publicly at odds with the Queen over her claims about Archie’s birth certificate. Markle’s spokesperson claimed that the Palace forced Markle’s name to be removed from her son’s birth certificate and replaced with her title, Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex. But, a Palace insider leveled Markle’s accusations with a simple statement. 

Harry and Meghan have had a rocky public relationship with the Palace since their abrupt announcement a year ago regarding leaving their positions as senior royals. This latest back and forth in the media highlights that things might be even worse than we think.

“The change of name on public documents in 2019 was dictated by The Palace, as confirmed by documents from senior Palace officials,” Markle’s spokesperson told the Daily Mail. “this was not requested by Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex nor by The Duke of Sussex.”

The American Duchess’s spokesperson doubled down by claiming it is “offensive” for anyone to assert that Meghan Markle wanted to be “nameless” on her son’s birth certificate.

Prince Archie was born May 6, 2019 and his mother’s name was changed to her royal title the following month.

But, apparently that is the case. 

Buckingham Palace Denies Meghan Markle’s Claims

“The certificate was changed by the former office of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. It was changed to ensure consistency of the name and title of the Duchess with other private documents,” a Buckingham Palace insider told The Daily Mail. 

The Palace insider continued exposing Meghan Markle’s claim as false by saying, “These are civil documents, there is no protocol.”

It was also claimed that details of the change to Archie’s birth certificate were “lost in translation” by Meghan Markle’s American public relations team who must be out of step with what is and is not royal protocol.

Meghan and Harry split from The Royal Foundation just 15 days after Archie’s birth certificate was amended. That is when they registered “Sussex Royal The Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.” 

This was a clear jab by Meghan Markle at Buckingham Palace. But, nobody takes cheap pot shots at the Queen and gets away with it.
