Candace Cameron Bure haters family Christmas photo mama bear

Former “Fuller House” star Candace Cameron Bure may be known as one of the most devoutly Christian actresses in Hollywood, but that doesn’t meant that she’s afraid to take a stand when it comes to protecting her family.

She showed that earlier this month, when she fired back at haters attacking her family after she posted a Christmas photo of herself with her husband and their three children.

Now, Bure is speaking out to say that it was “mama bear” instinct that caused her to lash out at her internet haters.

Candace Cameron Bure Slaps Down Family Christmas Photo Haters

Well, it didn’t take long for the comments to start rolling in. But the nature of those comments caught the Hallmark star off guard.

Candace Cameron Bure was stunned when this photo was met with hate on the internet, so she felt the need to fire back with the following blistering statement:

“I posted my family Christmas photo and sadly, there were so many unkind comments. Do you think it’s funny to criticize someone’s children? To make jokes about them? To critique our poses? The direction in which we are looking? Our physical appearance and facial expressions?

I wished blessings upon everyone as I shared it in the spirit of a happy new year, yet so many of you came back with jokes about our appearance and criticism of what you thought would have been a better photo.”

“Shame on you. It doesn’t matter if you’re 10 or 90 years old, rude is rude. Be better than that. I’m praying for humanity. Manners and respect. If you don’t like something, just move on. There are people and real feelings behind every screen.

P.S. Please don’t tell me to ignore the ‘haters.’ There were plenty of well meaning people who thought it would be funny to point out things and share their commentary, ‘with love.’ Umm… that’s not love. That’s rude. Try kind. It looks good on everyone.”

Some may have thought that being a kind Christian woman, Bure would back down after saying this.

Instead, she doubled down by telling Extra that when it comes to her family, she is a proud “mama bear” who lets nothing get passed her.

‘Mama Bear, That’s What Happened’

“Mama bear, that’s what happened,” Bure said when asked about this incident.

Everyone knows you don’t mess with a mama bear!

“Listen, on social media, everyone gets criticized, and if you are a celebrity, it just comes with the territory and I can handle it, but the second someone starts to criticize my children or say negative things like that, mama bear comes out. I just had to remind people that there are real people with real feelings behind the screen and I’m not posting for your negativity,” she continued.

“In that instance, I was simply sharing a family photo that was so beautiful to me,” Bure added. “Even a hint of people criticizing my family picture I wasn’t going to take.”
