MSNBC published an attack on the First Lady for daring to celebrate Christmas amidst the coronavirus pandemic in an op-ed titled “Why is Melania Trump doing ‘Christmas stuff’ with COVID surging?”
“What I want to know is: Who bullied Melania into doing all this Christmas stuff?” Hayes Brown wrote in the MSNBC op-ed.
Brown went on to claim that Melania does not like Christmas, citing a piece of audio recorded secretly without the first lady’s consent by her former friend and advisor, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff.
“I’m working like — my ass off — on Christmas stuff, you know?” Melania could allegedly be heard saying in the recordings. “Who gives a f— about Christmas stuff and decorations? But I need to do it, right?
“Then I do it,” she added. “And I say that I’m working on Christmas planning for the Christmas. And they said, ‘Oh, what about the children that they were separated?’ Give me a f—ing break. Where they were saying anything when Obama did that?”
Liberals have taken this audio as proof that Melania hates Christmas, but that’s not what she meant at all if you really listen to it.
Instead, she was expressing her frustration that the Obamas were given a free pass on everything when they were in the White House. Which includes separating children from their parents at the border.
Meanwhile, the media portrays every single thing that Melania does negatively. Even ruthlessly mocking the White House Christmas decorations that she works so hard on every year.

The MSNBC writer went on to attack Melania Trump for the White House Christmas events that she has planned for this year.
She wrote that she and the rest of the White House are “using the multiple Christmas parties as a final act of defiance, snubbing their noses at the nattering nabobs of negativity who think it’s a bad idea to host large events in the middle of a pandemic.”
It should be noted that MSNBC and the rest of the media had no problem with “large events” amidst COVID-19 as long as they were “protests” against racial injustice.
In fact, MSNBC turned a blind eye to the looting and destruction in Chicago. Many see their positive coverage of Black Lives Matter and intentional omissions as an indication they condone such behavior in the name of social justice.
I think I can answer the question Brown posed in the title of his op-ed as to why Melania is doing “Christmas stuff” amidst a pandemic.
Melania is the First Lady of the United States. She is trying to lift the spirits of the American people at a time when they need joy more than ever.
MSNBC looks down on Christmas in many ways because it is a Christian holiday. But Melania knows that it’s really a holiday about hope, which is something that we could all use.
Once again, First Lady Melania Trump is putting the American people first by giving us the best Christmas she can for what could be her last one in the White House.
Let’s hope her “Christmas stuff” helps to spreads joy.
