According to Kevin Mubenga, the manager for Nick Diaz, the likelihood of the fighter competing inside the Octagon in 2021 is very, very good.
“That’s the millions of millions of dollars question,” Mubenga said during a recent interview with Fanatics View. “The guy has been training for at least four months straight. He took a little break and now we’re going to pick it back up in December.
“Hopefully with a new deal done. We’ll make sure the money is right and opponent is right and move forward with all of this.”
Mubenga called the return “99.99999” likely to happen.
“We just got to get everything else right with the organization and everything,” he said. “We’ll be able to move forward.”
It has been almost six full years since Diaz last fought. He headlined UFC 183 against Anderson Silva, with both fighters eventually failing post-fight drug tests. The result was a no-contest.
