Harry Meghan Christmas Queen Royal Family

It had previously been confirmed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would not be traveling back to the United Kingdom to see the royal family for Christmas. However, the specifics of the couple’s alternate Christmas plans had yet to be confirmed to the public, until now.

While we haven’t gotten a glimpse of the family’s 2020 Christmas card yet, here’s a look at Harry and Meghan’s 2019 card with baby Archie featured front and center.

Harry And Meghan’s California Christmas Plans

A source has come forward to say that Harry and Meghan will be keeping things low-key for Christmas this year as they spend it at home at their mansion in Montecito, California.

Joining them will be their one year-old son, Archie, and Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland.

“The couple will be spending Christmas at home in California quietly with Archie and Doria [Ragland] joining them,” the source told Entertainment Tonight. “Meghan, who is an accomplished cook, will be preparing some of their favorite dishes with Harry and Doria pitching in.”

Their California Christmas Tree

Earlier this month, Harry and Meghan were spotted at an unspecified California tree barn, where they bought a Christmas tree. The couple was so low-key that a small child even mistook Harry for someone who worked at the barn!

“Meghan and Prince Harry came into my work today and we sold them their Christmas tree,” tweeted @imaJaaaaaames.

“We had our lot empty when they got there – their agent promoted them a good time to come instead of us shutting it down. There was one family in there and their stoked little son ran through trees up to Harry and asked if he worked here not knowing who that is.”

Now that’s a story that child’s parents will be telling for many years to come!

The Queen Will Miss Harry And Meghan This Christmas

Harry and Meghan decided that they would not be going to the U.K. for the traditional Christmas with the Royal Family because of the travel difficulties posed by the coronavirus pandemic.

While Harry’s grandmother Queen Elizabeth was said to be “disappointed” that she would not get to see Archie over the holidays, she could certainly understand the situation.

However, this does not mean not getting to see Harry and his family is easy for the 94 year-old monarch.

Royal biographer Penny Junor explained told the Daily Express that the Queen has a “soft spot” in her heart for Harry and his family.

“I am sure the Queen will be very sad not to see Harry and Megan and her youngest great-grandchild,” Junor said. “I think she has a very soft spot for Harry.”
