Inside Betty White’s ‘Low-Key’ Plans For Her 99th Birthday – She ‘Won’t Be Short On Attention’

Legendary Hollywood funny girl Betty White will be celebrating her 99th birthday on January 17, and even though she can’t go all-out celebrating due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the former “Golden Girls” star has still come up with a “different” way to mark the occasion.

While I think most Hollywood stars deserve a little less spotlight, this is one celebrity birthday worth celebrating!

Betty White’s 99th Birthday Plans

“The pandemic won’t stop Betty from celebrating turning 99 years old,” a source told Closer Weekly. “She’s planning a Zoom garden party with friends and a big chocolate birthday cake with candles. She’s always had a sweet tooth! She [also] asked for hotdogs and fries with ketchup.”

The insider went on to say that White “certainly won’t be short of attention on her birthday,” adding that despite having to “limit the number of people” she comes in contact with “because of her age,” she won’t be alone.

“She has a full-time nurse and helper she adores, who will be there on her birthday,” the source explained. “They’ve become friends and she enjoys the company.”

Betty White Will Still Enjoy Her Birthday

White typically “does something big” for her birthday, but the coronavirus pandemic has made that impossible this year. Aside from hosting her Zoom party, White will be looking at the “letters,” “birthday cards” and other “amazing gifts” that have been sent by her adoring fans.

“She’s [also] received handmade knitted scarves, ornaments and portraits they’ve painted,” the insider added. “She feels so proud and blessed to have such a huge following and never takes her fans for granted!”

White has been staying positive in quarantine over the past few months, with the source saying that she has been “enjoying spending time in her spacious garden.”

“She’s at her happiest when she’s surrounded by nature and animals and loves bird-watching!” the insider continued. “She’s taken the opportunity to wind down and switch off a little.”

Earlier this year, White spoke out to say that she feels “blessed” to have “incredibly good” health.

“That’s something you appreciate a lot,” she said back in May.

Her Secret To Longevity

White previously told Parade Magazine that her secret to longevity is maintaining a positive attitude at all times.

“I know it sounds corny, but I try to see the funny side and the upside, not the downside. I get bored with people who complain about this or that. It’s such a waste of time,” she said.

“Accentuate the positive, not the negative. It sounds so trite, but a lot of people will pick out something to complain about, rather than say, ‘Hey, that was great!’ It’s not hard to find great stuff if you look,” White added.
