Tim Means extended his winning streak to two tonight at UFC 255, by leaning on his renowned striking against Mike Perry.

Round one

Perry came out pressuring and changed levels not long in. Perry dragged Means to the ground and started working from within the guard. Means gave up his back and Perry started hunting for a rear-naked-choke. Means managed to work his way out, however, and got back to his feet.

Means started to find his range and ended the round with a nice series of strikes.

Round two

Perry came out pressuring again to begin round two but Means countered well. Perry’s face started to show the signs of the strikes Means was scoring with. Perry winged a couple of big hooks but missed, and Means fired back. Mid round, Perry scored with a couple of big hooks, but Means recovered and popped in some jabs. Means threatened with a head kick and stayed busy with his jab. Means cracked Perry with a nice short elbow and Perry followed up with some winging shots.

Means bloodied Perry up more with a steady stream of jabs, before the round ended.

Round three

Means fired in some kicks to begin round three and Perry clinched up. Perry tried working a takedown but Means broke free and fired in some punches. Means dug a left to the body and remained the busier of the two. Perry planted a big hook and Means returned fire. Mid round, Means charged and pushed Perry to the cage.

Means planted more shots and Perry’s cuts worsened. Means fired in an elbow and Perry responded with hooks. Perry flurried late but Means returned fire. Wow. Should be Means’ fight, two rounds to one.

One judge scored all three rounds for Means, and the other two had it 2-1 for the ‘Dirty Bird’.
