Linda Purl Patrick Duffy

Patrick Duffy, 80s heartthrob from the TV show “Dallas,” recently found love with another TV star of that era. Duffy’s new flame is Linda Purl of “Happy Days” and “Matlock” fame. The story of how they came to become a couple will lift the spirits of fans of these shows.

First, Purl was Richies’s girlfriend Gloria, then she was Fonzie’s love interest, divorcee Ashley Pfister in season 10, on “Happy Days” while Duffy was Bobby Ewing on “Dallas” and before that in “Man From Atantis.”

Now, these stars of must-see TV from years ago are joined at the hip.

Here’s a short look at how she got the part on Happy Days:

Duffy Was Married For Over 40 Years

Duffy’s wife of over 40 years, ballet dancer Carlyn Rosser, died of cancer in 2017. He thought his love life was over and he accepted it. But, surprisingly, he found new love during the pandemic.

Dating is challenging at any time, but especially during a pandemic. However, these two actors knew that love was in their cards and it was worth the risk.

Duffy and Purl were on a group text with a bunch of friends. Over time, it paired down to just the two of them.

Finally, he needed to know if the sparks he was feeling were there in real life. He hopped in the car and drove 20 hours to see Purl. They have been inseparable ever since.

“I’m in an incredibly happy relationship,” a smitten Duffy told People. “I never thought for a minute this would happen again,” he says. “I never thought I’d feel this way again.”

In August, Purl, who has been married four times, shared an Instagram couple outside with their dog.

Duffy’s Christmas Movie

As a widower, Duffy knows his wife would want him to be happy. This couple is proof that sometimes we can find love later in life.

“I feel quite honestly, that it is keeping with the desires of my wife, the fact that we are intended to be happy,” he says. “So when it’s offered, think about it, do whatever you do, but don’t let it pass you up if it’s the right thing.”
