Khaos Williams Reflects on Scary KO of Abdul Razak Alhassan

Khaos Williams dropped jaws via his vicious, knockout at UFC Vegas 14, and recently the hard-hitting welterweight reflected on the scary stoppage.

Williams says UFC Vegas 14 KO was the scariest of his career

The 26-year-old Williams was booked to fight Abdul Razak Alhassan at UFC Vegas 14 earlier this month, after he quickly took out Alex Morono in February. Heading into the fight, hardcore fans and observers understood the fight could feature fireworks, as the 35-year-old Alhassan is also not short on power.

Well, Williams proceeded to buzz the MMA world by flooring Alhassan with a booming shot, just 30 seconds in. The latter remained down for several minutes, before getting back to his feet.

Recently Williams spoke with MMA Fighting. When asked if the stoppage was the scariest of his career to date, Williams said this.

“It definitely was, I’m not gonna lie,” Williams said. “It’s a sport and I’m a dangerous fighter. At the end of the day, when I’m in there, it’s killed or be killed. Outside of the cage, I know people have lives.

“That’s somebody’s son, that might be somebody else’s dad, or somebody’s husband. I never want to hurt nobody too bad because it’s a sport. After seeing him down so long, I did get a little concerned. I just hoped he was all right.”

These are classy comments from Williams, and hopefully Alhassan  doesn’t suffer any long term effects from the brutal KO.

The Michigan fighter also had this to say, while discussing his highlight reel win.,

“It still feels good,” Williams said. “Just seeing how far I’ve come, seeing Dana White re-posting it, seeing some of the legends of the game speak my name, I’m just blessed.

“I never admire my work. I gotta stay hungry and I’m just gonna keep grinding.

I celebrated a little bit, but then it’s right back in the gym.

The more you win, the harder you gotta work because more people are watching you. You’ve got more haters and more people that want to fight you.

I know what I gotta do. I’m just getting started.”

What’s next for Williams?

It will be interesting to see who the UFC books to face Williams next. Although he’s only fought twice in the UFC, due to how viral his last win was, one would think he’ll be booked for another high profile fight.

Will it be a top 15 ranked welterweight though? That’s the question.

The division is one of the UFC’s deepest. Khamzat Chimaev, who is ranked #15, is set to face the #3 ranked Leon Edwards next.

Chimaev, however, has three UFC wins under his belt.
