Sean Lennon Yoko Ono Portland Lincoln Roosevelt statues Antifa

Sean Lennon is not impressed with the Antifa and Black Lives Matter protestors in Portland who pulled down statues of Teddy Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. In hilarious and effective fashion, the son of John Lennon and Yoko Ono sarcastically mocked the rioters on Twitter.

Sean Lennon is an independent thinker. His social media reveals that he comes to his own conclusions rather than subscribing to group think that traditionally dominates the entertainment industry.

A musician himself, he appears to have diverged from the liberal activism his parents were known for. He doesn’t identify with today’s woke culture that wants to whitewash history.

Portland’s Day Of Rage

During Sunday’s Day Of Rage in Portland, statues of Teddy Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln were toppled and tagged.

The fact that these two statues were targeted highlight a serious issue with this violent movement. The rioters are ignorant to obvious facts.

The 45-year-old musician began by tweeting, “Can someone explain why it appears a Lincoln statue was toppled in Portland,” Lennon wrote Monday. “Asking for a friend.”

One tweet in reply to Lennon justified the attack on Lincoln’s statue claiming the president who issued the Emancipation Proclamation freeing the slaves mansplained to Indian Chiefs.

Lennon wasn’t about to allow this response go without a reply. We can’t change history and we can’t expect people in the past to have lived by today’s woke standards.

“Well they sure showed that statue a thing or two about a thing or two,” the Beatles heir tweeted.” I’m sure everyone is impressed.”

Pyramids Of Gaza

When no good answer for this destruction was given, Lennon pointed out how ridiculous it is. Separate from the fact that targeting Teddy and Abe highlights the ignorance of the movement, history is history and much of it isn’t pretty.

He pointed out the Egyptian pyramids were built by slave labor yet they still proudly stand.

“The Pyramids of Giza were made under coercion from evil Pharaohs who were not very woke,” Sean Lennon tweeted. “I think we can all agree the Pyramids should be torn down immediately.”

If we are to whitewash history and make it acceptable by today’s standards, it’s hard to imagine a country or culture that would be left untargeted by the woke crowd.

History is not kind, but it’s in the past and we can’t re-invent it by erasing it.

Lennon sarcastically pointed out that Italy was never held accountable for Julius Caesar’s invasion of what is now Great Britain.

All the Portland rioters taught us is that they are ignorant to history. Worse, they are willing to use violence to back up their ignorance.
