Previewing WLC: Lethwei Showcase Featuring Antonio Faria-Francisco Vinuelas

The WLC title will be on the line Friday when Antonio Faria defends against Francisco Vinuelas at WLC: Lethwei Showcase.

The best of the best in Lethwei will convene for World Lethwei Championship at WLC: Lethwei Showcase on Friday.

The event airs live on UFC Fight Pass, Canal+ and other broadcast partners across 100 countries. Action begins at 8 a.m. ET in the United States.

Antonio Faria defends his WLC light welterweight championship against Francisco Vinuelas in the main event. Faria, a perfect 3-0, has scored three finishes in WLC including a victory this past February over Saw Htoo Aung for the inaugural title.

“The future of combat sports is Lethwei and this spectacle will be a showcase for the sport on the global platform,” WLC chairman Zay Thiha said. “We are excited to continue to produce world-class Lethwei content that is now accessible globally and to greater the future generation of Lethwei athletes and fans.”

While Faria has made WLC his home for the past several fights, this marks the debut in the promotion for Vinuelas. The fighter is a veteran of Chinese mixed martial arts and kickboxing, competing for the past two decades in many areas of combat sports.

In the co-main event, Nico Mendes battles Saensuek. Mendes, a former IFMA champion and Golden Fight Tournament champion, uses his range and length to keep opponents off guard.

Saensuek is a teenage Muay Thai prodigy from Pattaya, Thailand competing out of the Venum Training Camp.

The card also features Leehany Henrique meeting Vladimir Shulyak in a light middleweight contest; Saw Hla Min and Yoel Paique battling at light welterweight; Pha Kyaw Hae and Bandaska squaring off at bantamweight; Jay Chay taking on Elamghari Ayoub at bantamweight; and a women’s bantamweight contest between Petchnaree and Miriam Sabot.
