In the lead-up to the 2016 presidential election, countless celebrities vowed to leave the country if Donald Trump won the presidential election. Now, EGOT winner John Legends seems to have forgotten that virtually none of those liberal celebrities followed through on their Trump election threat.
Taking a page out of their book, Legend suggested that Americans may need to think about leaving the US if Trump wins the 2020 election in a new interview with Cosmopolitan UK.
“At some point, if that project [to destroy democracy] was to be in any way successful, you’d have to think about going somewhere that is a true democracy, that has respect for the rule of law and human rights,” Legend told Cosmopolitan UK.
“If America chooses to be that place then people will have to start thinking about going somewhere else. It is truly disturbing and concerning,” added the singer, who is married to the anti-Trump supermodel Chrissy Teigen.
So does that mean Legend plans to move “somewhere else” if Trump wins the US election? I wonder which country he views as a “true democracy” if not the United State of America.
But the award-winning singer is “not nervous” about the election because he believes Americans are “exhausted” by Trump’s presidency and “the daily efforts to destroy democracy and the free press.”
That being said, the “All Of Me” singer admitted that he does think about leaving the U.S. “every once in awhile” if Trump wins reelection.
“We were born and raised here, all of our families are here. It would be hard to leave. But I don’t know what one’s supposed to do when you have a leader who is trying to destroy democracy,” he said.
“We can’t bear another four years of this,” Legend concluded. “As Michelle Obama said, we have to vote like our lives depend on it. I honestly think the American people will do it. I truly don’t know if we would be a democracy when we were done if we went another four years.”
John Legend’s comments come four years after a cast of liberal celebrities swore they would leave the country if Trump was elected.

Among them, Miley Cyrus, Whoopi Goldberg, and Cher were so confident that Hillary Clinton would beat Trump that they vowed if she lost.
“Honestly f*** this s*** I am moving if this is my president! I don’t say things I don’t mean!” Cyrus wrote on Instagram after Trump’s victory.
While she claims not to say things that she doesn’t mean, Miley Cyrus clearly didn’t mean it. As the “Party In The USA” singer remains in America all these years later.
Months after making her vow, Cyrus revealed why she won’t actually leave the U.S.
“I’m not f***ing leaving the country, that’s some ignorant s***, that’s dumb. Because that’s me abandoning my country when I think I’ve got a good thing to say to my country,” Cyrus told NME.
“And trust me, I hear every day on my Instagram, ‘Just leave already! When are you going to leave?’ Well, that’s not going to be any good,” she added. “Does it really matter where I am? Because wherever I am, my f***ing voice is gonna be heard, and I’ll make sure of it.”

There’s a lot of people out there who’d like to see John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, Miley Cyrus, and all the other loudmouth liberal celebrities leave the country if Trump wins the 2020 election.
