Brock Lesnar UFC Rumors

For years, there was widespread talk, and hope, within the MMA world that a fight between Fedor Emelianenko and Brock Lesnar would happen. But, the super fight, never came to pass.

But, could we see the heavyweights fight now? With both men in their 40’s? Well, if Lesnar is in fact a free agent as has recently been reported, Bellator’s Scott Coker is interested in trying to make it happen.

Coker is reportedly interested in Fedor vs. Lesnar

Back when Lesnar was a the top of the UFC’s heavyweight division, over a decade ago now, there was no shortage of buzz about him possibly fighting Fedor. The UFC reportedly tried to sign Fedor, as a means to make the super fight happen, but “The Last Emperor” never came to terms with the promotion.

Well, in more recent years, Fedor has been fighting for Bellator and Lesnar has been performing for WWE. The UFC planned to have Lesnar battle Daniel Cormier in 2019, when “DC” was still the heavyweight champ, but Lesnar opted to stick with pro-wrestling.

But, fast forward to today, and it’s being reported that Lesnar’s deal with WWE is done and that he’s a free agent. As a result, ESPN’s Ariel Helwani reached out to Coker, and inquired about whether he’d be interested in pursuing Fedor vs. Lesnar.

“Asked Bellator President Scott Coker if he has interest in Brock Lesnar, and he replied:

“Yes, if he’s truly available. Fedor vs. Brock is interesting. It’s the fight that never happened!”

Could this happen?

There’s no doubt that although both Fedor and Lesnar are now in their 40’s, this would still be a massive fight. So, of course, Coker and Bellator would be interested in pursuing it.

But, it’s not clear if Lesnar is even thinking about competing in MMA anymore. Further, there seems to be some debate as to whether Lesnar can take a MMA fight, outside the UFC.
