UFC On ESPN 15 Results: Frankie Edgar Stuns Pedro Munhoz

The UFC’s run in Las Vegas continued Saturday night with UFC on ESPN 15: Munhoz vs. Edgar.

From inside the UFC Apex, the action aired live on ESPN following NBA playoffs and streamed on ESPN+.

Throughout the five rounds, it appeared as if Pedro Munhoz had done enough to warrant a decision over Frankie Edgar

But the judges saw it differently.

The former UFC lightweight champion and featherweight title contender earned a split decision in the bantamweight main event over Munhoz.

For the 11th time in his 16 career fights, Mike Rodriguez earned a finish, stopping Marcin Prachnio in the co-main event. Rodriguez is 11-4 overall, with all 11 of those being either knockout or submission wins.

Rodriguez is 2-1 with a no-contest in his UFC career since appearing on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2017. There he earned a flying knee finish in the first round.

In a lightweight contest, Joe Solecki was able to secure himself on the back of Austin Hubbard and earn a submission. Solecki locked up the body before getting his arm under the chin to secure a rear-naked choke.

After nearly being finished in the first, Shana Dobson comes back to stop Mariya Agapov in the second round.

Dobson, a huge underdog, improved to 4-4 with the victory. The 31-year-old snapped a three-fight losing streak, winning for the first time since 2017.

Daniel Rodriguez began the main card with a bang, finishing Dwight Grant in just over two minutes. Rodriguez was scheduled to meet Takashi Sato, but Sato was not cleared and he instead faced Grant, who lost two other opponents coming in.

The early prelims featured four bouts as Amanda Lemos, Jordan Wright, Matthew Semelsberger and Trevin Jones were all winners.

Lemos topped Mizuki Inoue via decision, as did Semelsberger over Carlton Minus.

Wright earned a first round finish against Ike Villaneuva and Jones kicked off the night with a second round TKO over Timur Valiev.

Jones found out he was competing just two days ago, replacing Mark Streigl in the fight.
