RIZIN 23 is in the books, and the event saw Kai Asakura win the vacant bantamweight title in highlight reel fashion.

Asakura finishes Hiromasa Ogikubo with soccer kicks

Asakura faced veteran Hiromasa Ogikubo for the vacant belt in the main event of RIZIN 23, which took place in Yokohama, Japan. The belt was vacated by Manel Kape a little while ago, as he’s now on the UFC roster.

As you can see by watching the video below, Asakura finished the deal with knees and kicks.

Asakura (15-2) was competing for the first time since December, when he was stopped by Kape in the round two. Ogikubo (20-5-2) had won three straight prior to facing Asakura.
