For the second consecutive time, Alexander Volkanovski pulled off a split decision win over Max Holloway. While the first earned him the UFC featherweight title, this cemented his standing as a defense.

Despite Holloway coming out strong, Volkanovski survived the onslaught, rallying in the later rounds. He has now won 19 consecutive fights, which is tied for third with fellow UFC champion Israel Adesanya for the best active run.

Showing just how prepared he was, Jorge Masvidal out-landed Kamaru Usman in the first round of the main event, 48-29.

However, the champion rallied back in the second with a strong run, out-landing Masvidal 80-20 in terms of strikes. The “wrestler” continued to show his strong striking, out-landing Masvidal 229-111 and connecting on almost 80 percent of his strikes at one point.
At the end of the five-round battle, Usman had out-landed Masvidal 252-125 including 91-73 while scoring on five takedowns to earn a successful title defense.
