After Karl Roberson was forced to withdraw from their first booking a few weeks ago, Marvin Vettori made it clear that he’s got some issues with the fighter. Well, at UFC Vegas 2 tonight, Vettori quickly settled their grudge with a first round, submission win.
Neither man landed anything big in the opening moments, but then both fighters started to score with some jabs. A couple of minutes in, Vettori shot in, and while Roberson defended at first, he eventually wound up on the floor.
Vettori started hunting for a choke from above. The action scrambled to the feet and Vettori tried locking in a guillotine choke, but Roberson defended.
With the fight on the ground again, Vettori started firing down punches from above for several moments.
Roberson absorbed numerous punches from above, and not long after, Vettori sunk in a fight ending, rear-naked-choke. Impressive win for Vettori.
