Multiple NFL Teams Interested Colin Kaepernick – But Botched Special Workout Now Haunts Him

Weeks after NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell apologized for not doing more to help anthem-kneeling players, reports are coming in stating that “multiple teams” now have a “legitimate interest” in signing Colin Kaepernick. However, Kaepernick’s lack of football talent might now be what costs him a spot on a team. After all, teams haven’t seen Colin Kaepernick perform since he sabotaged the special workout the NFL arranged for him in the fall.

NFL Roger Goodell Issues Apology

“We, the National Football League admit we were wrong for not listening to NFL players earlier, and encourage all to speak out and peacefully protest,” Goodell said on June 5 in a video statement. “We, the National Football League believe black lives matter.”

Daily Wire reported that days later, Goodell addressed Kaepernick’s possible return to the NFL.

“Well, listen, if he wants to resume his career in the NFL, then obviously it’s going to take a team to make that decision,” Goodell said. “But I welcome that, support a club making that decision and encourage them to do that.”

He went on to add that even if Kaepernick has no interest in playing again, the league “welcome[s] him to that table and to help us, guide us, help us make better decisions about the kinds of things that need to be done in the communities.”

Not so long ago, Goodell had insisted the NFL had moved on from Kaepernick.

‘A Couple Of Teams’ Are Interested In Kaepernick

The NFL Network’s Michael Silver has since said that “at least a couple of teams” are now interested in Kaepernick.

“I have talked to one head coach who is absolutely interested,” he added.

Silver went on to say that any holdups from the teams on whether or not to sign Kaepernick have nothing to do with his anthem-kneeling protests. Instead, the concern is whether he can actually perform, as nobody has seen him play in years.

Kaepernick’s Workout Debacle

You might recall the NFL gave Kaepernick the opportunity to show off his skills just a few months ago. In fact, the league went out of its way to organize a workout for him to perform in front of every NFL team.

How did Kaepernick respond? The out-of-work quarterback changed the workout location at the last second.  Most teams were not able to make it to the new location on last-minute notice.

Why would he want to risk that? So the media could attend, of course. It always comes back to media attention.

Kaepernick’s behavior in regards to this workout proved once and for all that he is far more interested in continuing to play the victim than he is in ever playing for the NFL again.

If NFL teams are smart, they will not sign him. It’s certainly not worth wasting a spot in their lineup on Kaepernick.
