UFC Florida: Krzysztof Jotko Outscores Eryk Anders

Krzysztof Jotko wasn’t able to score a stoppage win over Eryk Anders like he hoped at UFC Florida. But, the Polish middleweight did outscore the American en route to his third straight win.

Round one

Two southpaws going here. Jotko stayed busy with his jab and kicks early on. Jotko planted a nice check right hook not long in. Jotko missed with a spinning elbow and Anders clinched up. Jotko worked his way out soon after and scored with some strikes. Anders continued to move forward and grazed Jotko  with a hard left. Anders clinched up and started hunting for a takedown but Jotko kept the fight up.

Anders planted a big left late in the round and Jotko  shot in. Anders defended at first, and in the ensuing scramble, he nearly tagged Jotko with a headkick. Anders followed up with heavy punches before the frame ended.

Round two

Anders came out aggressively in round two, winging big punches and looking for a takedown. Jotko kept Anders off and scored with a hard straight left. Anders clinched up and started working for another TD, but Jotko defended. Moments later, Jotko threatened with a knee. Anders went for another TD and then a spinning elbow that missed. Late in the round, Anders continued to work for a takedown but was unable to get Jotko to the mat.

Round three

Close fight heading into the final round. Jotko went for another spinning elbow but Anders countered with a takedown attempt. The middleweights battled in the clinch along the cage, but once again, Jotko prevented Anders from taking him down. Moments later, Jotko scored with a nice left, and then an uppercut. Anders came with a nice flurry mid-round, but not long after, Jotko tagged him with another straight left.

Anders clinched up and tried taking Jotko down again, but wasn’t able  to, once again…Jotko seemed to be protesting Anders’ ongoing clinch work, before the final horn went. Another solid bout.

Final stats show Jotko landed way more significant strikes than Anders, and the judges awarded him for that.

Here are the results so far for UFC Florida.
