Otis’ Obsession With Trish Stratus Got Him Speared

When Otis was in the fifth grade, he had a bit of an obsession with Trish Stratus. Unfortunately, that obsession got him speared during a WWE live event.

Never Run Towards A Barrier

If you ever find yourself at a WWE live event, never run towards a barrier to try to reach a superstar. This is a harsh lesson that Otis learned when he was attending an event to see Trish Stratus.

When Otis was in the fifth grade, he attended one of WWE’s live events. As soon as Trish Stratus came out, he ran towards the barrier to slap hands with her, but was promptly speared by a security guard.

Otis had the following to say about the experience to Digital Spy:

 “It hurt, every bit of it hurt. I was a 200-pound fifth grader – I looked like a man almost.”

“So yeah I made a sacrifice, got speared, but after that spear from the guard we got first row tickets. So it all happened for a reason.”

While Otis received a spear by security, he did get free tickets for the next live event from it. So, things turned out okay.

Trish Stratus Has No Idea

Despite being a WWE superstar now, Otis never revealed his Trish Stratus crush before. In fact, he states he finds it difficult to talk to her in person.

Now that the story about his Trish Stratus obsession is out, we have no doubt the story will reach the ears of one of the most successful women’s champions in history.

There are some big moments ahead for Otis as he is currently participating in the Money in the Bank “Corporate” Ladder Match. If he wins the briefcase, he already knows what he will do with it.

During his interview with Digital Spy, Otis reveals he will use the briefcase to conquer the tag team titles. Since most wrestlers who win the briefcase go for a singles title, this would be a nice change indeed. 

“If I get the briefcase, we’re challenging for the Tag Team titles. I don’t think there’s a rule of what titles to challenge for, so we’re going to challenge for the Tag Team titles, cash it in and that’s what’s going to happen… if I can get up that ladder. I’m a little scared of heights. And I hope that ladder’s going to be sturdy enough to carry my weight.”

Otis also revealed he is a little scared of heights. We don’t blame him though. The ladder and the ring are on the top of the WWE tower! 

Of course, Otis will have to beat plenty of contenders. In addition to Otis, the ladder match includes stars such as Daniel Bryan, Rey Mysterio, Aleister Black, King Corbin and AJ Styles.

While going in as the underdog, Otis is enjoying plenty of support from fans and has been getting a little push over the past couple of weeks.

So, I would not rule out a win for the “Steaks and Weights” guy.
