Ellen DeGeneres Is Not As Nice As She Wants You To Think She Is, Former Staffer Confirms

A former staffer on Ellen DeGeneres’ daytime talk show just spoke out to confirm recent reports that the beloved comedian is not as kind as she would have her fans believe. This adds to the growing list of insider complaints against Ellen in recent weeks.

“The stories are all true!” the former “Ellen DeGeneres Show” staffer said of recent reports, according to Fox News. 

“Is she always nice? No,” added the former employee. “It irritates me that people think she’s all sweetness and light and she gets away with it.”

Over the past few weeks, various reports have come out that indicate the real DeGeneres is much different than the woman who famously tells her viewers to “be kind” at the end of every show.

Last month, a Variety report accused Ellen of leaving the crew of her talk show in the dark for weeks about the status of their employment and payment after production of her show shut down due to COVID-19.

Her crew was even more incensed by the fact Ellen hired contractors vs. out-of-work show employees to run her livestream from home.

More Dirt Surfaces On Ellen DeGeneres

Once that story began making the rounds, a Twitter thread was started calling Ellen “one of the meanest people alive” and allowing others to share stories about her there.

The thread was started by podcaster Kevin T. Porter, who described Ellen’s obnoxious attitude as an “open secret” in Hollywood. Porter also added that he knew many people who’d had bad experiences with her.

“There’s always been this whisper network about her notorious behavior,” he said.

Then last week, we reported that a former security guard came forward. Tom Majercak served as DeGeneres’ bodyguard when she was hosting the 2014 Academy Awards. Her awards escort confirmed that the seemingly bubbly talk show host was in actuality ‘cold’.

“Ellen pretty much just gave me a side glance out of her eye and didn’t even say ‘hello,’ or ‘thank you for protecting my mother, my wife and me,’” Majercak said. “It was very cold and it was very sly and it was actually kind of demeaning in the way that she treats people other than those who are in her circle.”

This is ‘Rat Poison’ To Ellen’s Brand

Industry experts say that these allegations could be devastating to Ellen DeGeneres’ brand. Especially since it’s all about being kind to others.

“The behavior that’s been revealed about Ellen is rat poison to the Ellen DeGeneres brand,” brand expert Eric Schiffer, chairman of Reputation Management Consultants, told Fox News.

“When you have a brand like Ellen’s leak information that is 180 degrees different than this facade she’s been painting, it creates a dumpster fire on her image and it’s like watching the Hindenburg.”

Executive Producer Defends Ellen DeGeneres

Others, however, are speaking out to defend Ellen.

Mary Connell has been executive producer of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” from the very beginning. Connell claims that that she has not seen diva-like behavior from the host.

“None of what’s being said speaks to the Ellen I know,” she said.

“Do the producers and her sometimes have to make unpopular decisions? Yes. Ellen is not afraid to tell you when she doesn’t like something. She’s had tough conversations with me. That’s a function of everyday life. But the person I know is someone who comes in every day and wants to put on a fun show in a fun environment and help people.”

Given just how many stories are coming out about Ellen, however, things could get very messy. That is unless the popular host somehow intervenes to turn this movement in a new direction.

Ellen DeGeneres has yet to respond personally to any of the claims surrounding her unkind behavior.
