UFC In The 2010s: Looking Back At Female Bantamweight Division

Ronda Rousey

The force in female MMA for the span of three-plus years, Ronda Rousey was presented as the first-ever UFC female bantamweight champion when the division was created in 2012.

She held the title for 1,074 days and earned six title defenses along the way. More, her ability to generate interest in the sport helped the UFC create even more women’s divisions.

Rousey scored wins over Liz Carmouche, Miesha Tate, Sara McMann, Alexis Davis, Cat Zingano and Bethe Correia before falling to Holly Holm in 2015.
