Shock Over Chris Benoit Spot In Match
I have to admit this is quite far-fetched, as I didn’t even notice watching the match. Nevertheless, some fans made a connection between a spot in the Edge and Randy Orton match and Chris Benoit.
Wrestling Observer Radio was the first to report the story, stating that fans were reminded of Chris Benoit as well as some of the wrestlers. It happened while Randy Orton wrapped weight-lifting equipment around Edge’s neck.
“It probably affects the talent more than the fans because while you can say that some fans are new and some didn’t see it, there’s not one wrestler there who doesn’t know the Chris Benoit story, not one,” said Dave Meltzer.
As I mentioned before, I think this is a little ridiculous. At this rate, all of Benoit’s wrestling moves could be banned because certain people are insulted.
In conclusion, it is taking things too far at the moment. It was just a wrestling match with no special or hidden references t Benoit.

Braun Strowman took the title from Goldberg because the latter did not want to add any new days to his current WWE deal. At least, this is what’s claimed by Wrestle Talk.
Since Roman Reigns withdrew from the match, it is also clear that he would have become the WWE Universal Champion again. Interestingly, Braun Strowman was not even booked for WrestleMania 36.
Reigns was supposed to take the win, and this may have consequences for the WWE Universal Championship moving forward. In fact, it could mean Roman will return to take the title from Strowman.
On the flip-side, there was speculation of WWE is holding a grudge against Reigns for withdrawing from WrestleMania 36. This has been quite clear, as the WWE has not come to the defense of one of its biggest superstars.
Reigns withdrew from WrestleMania 36 due to concerns for his health in relation to the coronavirus. Roman suffered from leukemia and only went into remission some time ago.
