Almost Time To Climb

It’s the beginning of another week, which means it’s time for another RAW In A Nutshell. This one should be good, as it’s almost time to climb the ladder.

As in, Money In The Bank is just under two weeks away. The matches are all coming into focus.

The ladder matches are basically set from the RAW side. This week’s RAW also will give us the always-loaded contract signing, this one between Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins.

Almost Time To Climb

There’s also more of Triple H and his 25th anniversary celebration, if that’s your thing.

So, without anymore delays, it’s almost time to climb the ladder, so let’s crack open another RAW In A Nutshell!

Best Match of the night:

This one is a tough choice for me. I have to say, the opening six man tag was better than I expected…so how is that for a ringing endorsement?

Worst match of the night:

The women’s triple threat never got started. So that was a bit of a bummer.

On the plus side, however, not having a match reduced the chances for Nia Jax to injure someone, right? Always need that silver lining.

Star of the Night

Totally random, but how about Samoa Joe back on commentary? Loved hearing him back, plus no one in the ring screamed star over the rest.

Spot of the Night:

I like seeing Cedric Alexander and Ricochet’s finisher in particular, and their tandem offense in general. Fun stuff.

Jobber of the Night:

Denzel might get the nod most nights. But tonight, I feel like Tozawa earned it.

Poor guy was fed to a returning Jinder Mahal.

Upset of the Night:

None to speak of.

Holy Sh** Moment of the Night:

I struggled to decide on one. This choice may be a bit of a reach, but it’s all I had.

Imagine the shock, a week or so after Apollo Crews landed in the MITB ladder match, that he is now likely on his way out of it.

Crews left RAW on crutches and crying, playing up a knee injury. This one feels like the usual script that gets used often enough.

Have random star win a spot, and then write them out of the match due to injury shortly before the PPV.

Commentary of the night:

No lines, just a big and hearty “Welcome back, Samoa Joe!”

LOL Moment of the night:

Wasn’t feeling much this Monday.

Noteworthy Moment:

Well, looks like Apollo Crews won’t have a chance at the briefcase. That chain of events on Monday, it feels like WWE is lining up things to have Apollo unable to go in a bit less than two weeks.

Street Profits face The Viking Raiders next week. Doesn’t look like it’s for the titles this time, so who wants to bet the Raiders win, and in doing so, they set up a MITB title match?

And oh yea…Jinder Mahal is back. Though, it was odd that WWE had him announced as a former champion…since that usually doesn’t happen.

Overall lowlights:

Some short matches, some pointless ones.

Really not into Nia Jax at the moment. Hoping that they don’t continue to have her get the better of Shayna Baszler, because one woman can go, and the other is Nia Jax.

The Triple H “celebration” was barely anything. Certainly nothing like Friday.

Overall highlights:

The opening six man was really good, if a little long.

Samoa Joe back in any capacity is a good thing. Joe is really good at the announce position.

Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre did well with their signing segment. Harder to do sometimes without a crowd, but this worked.

There wasn’t much celebration of Triple H, like, no live in ring segment with an awkward ending.

The way Seth is talking, am I the only one who feels like there is some big surprise planned for Money In The Bank?

After the final bell:

Not great, not terrible. Par for the course, generally speaking.

Will be curious to see how the go home show works out.
