New Day Splitting Up?

New Day Splitting Up?

Previously, there had been talks of splitting up the New Day. Now, there seems to be more fuel to the fire.

During SmackDown, there have been random glitches on TV. Now, we are starting to see that a mysterious hooded person is behind them.

There are rumors that the person will be Ali, but that has not been confirmed. Already, the unknown person revealed Sonya Deville’s plan to trick Mandy Rose and Otis.

According to Wrestling News, there have been more pitches about splitting New Day up. If so, the timing would be interesting.

Less than 24 hours ago, New Day regained the SmackDown Tag Team Championship. This is their 8th run with the gold and they are also the longest reigning champions in WWE history.

It was not a typical tag team match. Instead, Big E won a triple threat against The Miz and Jey Uso.

During night one of WrestleMania 36, their partners battled in a triple threat ladder match. At that time, John Morrison retained the gold for his team.

Kofi Kingston and Big E have been on TV, despite COVID-19. Although, Xavier Woods has been out since October with an achilles injury.

Woods was listed as being out between six months to a year. Meaning, if healthy, there is a chance he can return to TV in a matter of a few weeks.

Since forming in 2014, New day have been one of the most entertaining duos in WWE history. One has no wonder, if fans want the the three to split.

It should also be noted that all three re-signed with WWE last year. Each are making the same amount of the money and the contracts are for five years.

More Changes Coming To WWE TV

WWE is considered essential business, which has allowed them resume live TV. Some of question if WWE’s relationship with Donald Trump played a role.

PWInsider noted that Vince McMahon has decided to change things up for RAW, SmackDown and NXT. For now, one week of TV will be live and the following taped.

The exact order of live shows and taping was not mentioned. The idea is cut back on travel and help keep their staff safe.

Of course, WWE’s schedule is constantly changing due to COVID-19. There is always a chance that McMahon changes his mind.

Since coming from the WWE Performance Center, viewership has not been great on all three brands. It is not only WWE struggling, as other promotions such as All Elite Wrestling are facing a decline in viewers.

As for returning to a normal route win with crowd and travel the country, that could several months away. Some has speculated that sporting events with full crowd will not happen until 2021.
