Despite the alarming number of coronavirus cases and deaths as a result of the pandemic, not everyone believes the situation is as serious as many officials maintain. Further, conspiracy theories regarding the pandemic’s alleged cause can be found on the internet.

Well, recently Michael Bisping weighed in on all this, and the outspoken legend didn’t hold back.

Bisping lights up COVID-19 conspiracy theorists

As you surely know, like seemingly all aspects of life today, the pandemic has impacted the world of MMA. All the major promotions have been forced to postpone shows for the time being, and it’s not 100% certain when a card will be held.

That’s because in many jurisdictions right now, there are bans in place on pubic gatherings and travel, as a means to slow the pandemic.

Not everyone, however, believes those measures are necessary. Further, there are conspiracy theories floating around regarding the pandemic.

Well, recently Bisping was a guest on “Submission Radio“, and he had this to say about the situation above (quotes via MMA Junkie).

“Unfortunately, the world’s going through a very crazy time right now, and if we all just do as we’re bloody well told and follow the guidelines – it isn’t 5G, governments aren’t conspiring to one world order, it isn’t a conspiracy, the earth isn’t flat.

We’ve just got to (expletive) stay indoors and do as we’re told, and this thing will pass,” Bisping said.

“But there’s a lot of idiots out there that feel that they know better. A lot of people are insecure and they think that everyone’s against them and the world’s a big conspiracy.

It’s not a conspiracy. There’s a (expletive) disease, an illness, a virus, which has originated in China and spread across the world that’s highly contagious. We’ve got to stay inside, do as we’re told and, in a little bit, it’ll pass.

“Or we can all be idiots, ignore what everyone’s telling us, ignore what the scientists are telling us … because I know what people are saying: ‘Don’t believe everything you hear on the news.’ I don’t.

What I do is listen and read and listen to the medical professionals, people that have dedicated their entire lives to medical science. I tend to listen to them, not some knuckleheads on the internet.”

Yup. Listening to people who have dedicated a good portion of their life to studying and learning about a subject is typically a wise idea.

UFC 249 or 250?

It remains to be seen whether the UFC is going to proceed with its plans for a May 9th card and where. Recently Dana White shared out the planned card for the event, but there’s been no word since as to the location.
