Garth Brooks & Trisha Yearwood Win Over America With Coronavirus Concert At Home – ‘The Comfort I Need’

Last night, country music stars Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood stepped up to cheer up Americans amidst the coronavirus pandemic with a very special concert from their home studio that aired on CBS. The famous married couple not only raised crucial dollars for coronavirus relief efforts but also performed some popular cover songs much to the delight of fans everywhere! 

Garth & Trisha’s CBS Coronavirus Concert Special

Fox News reported that Brooks and Yearwood performed the concert right from the recording space that they refer to as Studio G, which is located at their home.

CBS got the idea to air the one-hour long concert after seeing the couple’s home performances streamed on Facebook last month.

“This is about requests and getting to play music and to be together — apart — if that makes sense,” Brooks said of the event, according to USA Today

Brooks and Yearwood ended up teaming upon with CBS to donate $1 million to COVID-19 relief efforts. That generosity alone is a smashing success!

“Every penny that they’re doing for this is going to go to fight (on) the COVID-19 front line,” Brooks said. “They’re putting their lives on the line so the rest of us can survive.” 

Garth & Trisha Perform Beloved Songs

During the concert special, Brooks performed his hit song “When You Come Back to Me Again” before teaming up with his wife of 14 years to perform songs like Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide” and Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s “Shallow” from A Star is Born.

Since the couple was taking requests live, they even sang songs for the very first time. Like the multi-platinum hit “Girl Crush” by Little Big Town. After wrapping the song Yearwood commented, “I had never sung that one before.”

Brooks and Yearwood also made sure to pay tribute to first responders who are going above and beyond to protect us right now.

“In regular-bad times, it’s military in the front line,” Brooks said. “And now it’s all the doctors, nurses, volunteers — all those people on the front line. We love you guys. You have all of our strength and all of our prayers.” 

“We all know somebody who’s a first responder,” Yearwood added. “This is something that affects us all. It’s scary but there’s also a comfort in knowing we all in this together and we will get through it.” 

The couple closed things out by performing “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” from The Wizard Of Oz

“This is about hope,” Yearwood said. “That’s why I love that song so much.”

Fans Praise Coronavirus Concert

As the concert aired, fans took to social media to praise them for the concert, which clearly brought smiles to tons of faces right when they needed it most.

“Watching Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood taking requests & singing to camera with just a guitar feels like the early days of tv. The comfort food I needed. Shallow. To Make You Feel My Love. What a nice surprise,” one user tweeted Wednesday night,” one social media user commented, with another adding, “Watching Garth Brooks And Trisha Yearwood what a pleasant change of pace that the corona virus depressing news , thanks guys!!”

“Not gonna lie, definitely got goosebumps watching Garth Brooks perform ‘Shallow’ with Trisha Yearwood,” a third user wrote, with a fourth commenting, “I didn’t realize how Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood could heal my soul, but I’m chugging a bottle of wine and just feeling alive for the first time in three weeks. #GarthAndTrishaLIVE #GarthAndTrishaLIVE.”

In times of great fear and uncertainty like these, an opportunity to escape for an hour is such a blessing. God bless Garth and Trisha for taking the time to give all of us something to smile about.
